Bonza Superfoods plus Ancient Grains formula has a caloric density of 353.13 kcal/100g or 3531kcal/kg of food. (see note below about reformulation in April 2024)

Bonza is an extremely nutrient dense food with one of the the lowest caloric densities of any vegan dog food. This means your dog gets all of the vital macro and micronutrients, and more, they require while consuming less calories. This helps with their weight management and reducing the effect excess weight has on their general health, wellbeing and longevity.

Many dog food companies do not provide information regarding the moisture levels in their food. This makes it impossible to calculate the carbohydrate levels in the food.

Unfortunately, as can be seen in the table above 5 out of 9 brands do not provide the transparency of information necessary to calculate the carbohydrate levels in their food accurately.

Note: Bonza Superfoods and Ancient Grains recipe was reformulated in April 2024 to include additional functional ingredients to support our dogs' health including postbiotics and yeast hydrolysate (source of MOS and beta-glucans) as well as to increase moisture content.
